The city council

The 15 members of the municipal council are elected, in the direct universal suffrage and in the majority nominal vote according to the same rules as those governing the parliamentary elections. The term in office of the City Council is of 6 years. In its first meeting, the council has to elect among his members and in the secret vote president and the vice-president.

The City Council, convened by its president, meets at least once a month and every time it is necessary. The president specifies the agenda in his call-up.

The council’s deliberations are valid only if the absolute majority of the members are present during the sessions which are not public. The decisions must be taken by ballot opened to the majority. The City Council holds its sessions behind closed doors, the president can however call for a state employee or any other person to look at a precise subject.

These decisions are the object of a report and they must be registered on a special register that every citizen of the village can take copy of, further to a formal demand. The council controls the executive authority and watches over the good work progress within the municipality.
