Beit El Sakhra
The Municipality of Bikfaya was built in 1984 as a multi-purpose hall and was built to be a cultural center for the region. This name was not called in vain, but is a translation of the Syriac name "Beit Kiva".
Since the Rock House has the best audiovisual equipment at the time, and since great names in the field of literature, music and art have visited it, it has attracted crowds of all ages who were eager to attend various cultural events, plays, concerts and exhibitions.
The rock house remained the meeting place for many years until 1990, when the occupation forces invaded Bikfaya and destroyed this great cultural edifice and looted it.
The current municipal council has modernized and developed the House of Rock and thus restored its pioneering cultural role in the region
The Stadium
Since the municipality of Bickfaya - Mhaydsse has always considered sports to be one of the most important social activities and a means to educate the generations and to acquire self development, it has always paid particular attention to sports and to the development of the young generations skills. Thus, the municipality built the municipal stadium thanks to the financial support of the Lebanese businessman Carlos Slim.
The stadium has been designed according to international standards and is equipped to host the most important sports tournaments. The stadium includes basketball and football fields that can receive up to 1500 people, sports halls as well as car parks. The management of this stadium was entrusted to the Amal Sports Club which was founded in 1948 and won the Lebanese Basketball Championship in 1960. It is now chaired by Karim Nasrallah.
The municipal council and the Amal sports club aim together to ensure the prosperity of this sports building.
